About Arts Smarts
Arts Smarts is our weekly summer camp program offering two weeks of unique camps in Music, Theatre, Dance, and Visual Arts.
Arts Smarts takes place each summer at the Ware Center in Lancaster, PA.
Arts Smarts camps have been created especially for children in two grade-level ranges: (rising) Kindergarten–Grade 2 and (rising) Grades 3-5.
There are morning and afternoon camp sessions for both grade-level ranges in all four disciplines – Music, Theatre, Dance, and Visual Arts. Each camp is completely unique, totaling 32 unique camp sessions in 2 weeks!
Yes! Camps are open to children of all abilities.
Campers can register for morning sessions from 9 AM – 12 PM, afternoon sessions from 1 PM – 4 PM, or both! Both mornings and afternoons feature a “common hour” in which all campers join together for a large group creative multi-disciplinary activity.
For those staying all day, there is a supervised lunch period. Lunches must be brought to camp and will be refrigerated. Morning and afternoon snacks are provided.
Drop-off and pick-up at the Ware Center is supervised by the staff.
Yes! On Fridays of both weeks, there are morning and afternoon performance showcases and art exhibits for families and friends featuring the campers’ work from each week.
The staff is comprised of a team of professional teaching artists and Millersville University Arts Education students who have full clearances to work with children.
Camps are $125 for a half-day session, per week, per child.
