We the People First Friday features community-centered performances and exhibits that represent the great mosaic of Lancaster and beyond with genres as diverse as our nation! FREE and open to the public. No tickets required.

Ubuntu African Storytelling

6:30 p.m. | Steinman Hall | A vibrant communal gathering where diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging come to life through the creative power of embodiment, storytelling, and rhythm. Dive into the rich tapestry of African narratives and healing drum beats with Chynaah Maryoung-Cooke as she explores identity, breaks through emotional barriers, and builds safe, welcoming spaces for all. Celebrate unity and discover the transformative magic of shared stories and rhythms.

“Ain’t I A Woman?” by Wanawake

Regitz Gallery | A collaborative exhibit by Wanawake, a collective of women artists led by Spoken Word Poet Thunda Khatt, this exhibit is a tribute to the resilience, strength, and creativity of women, drawing inspiration from their shared history and individual journeys. The diverse mediums and techniques used reflect the varied perspectives and experiences of the artists involved, creating a rich tapestry of visual storytelling. On display until March 28.
