Overshare: I Did This for Me is a raw, intimate body of work by Lancaster-based artist Shauna L Yorty, created over three years of survival, transformation, and self-discovery. Through cardboard collages and mixed media artwork, including dimensional pieces, Yorty explores the messy, hopeful, and deeply personal process of making art as a means of moving through difficult experiences.
Yorty describes the exhibition as a culmination of three years of “survival, process, and expression in service of love.” The works are made from humble, everyday materials and embrace an intentionally raw, handmade aesthetic. Bright colors, bold forms, layered textures, and dimensional elements transform discarded materials into expressive works of contemporary art.
Rather than creating art for perfection or approval, Yorty makes art as a way to process, connect, and keep moving forward. Overshare: I Did This for Me invites viewers to consider their own stories, vulnerabilities, and creative processes, while finding connection with others through artistic expression.
About the Artist
