Acts of Welcome
Join us in supporting CWS Lancaster, a local nonprofit organization that serves the refugee and immigrant communities of Central Pennsylvania, with a benefit concert featuring local Lancaster-area musicians.
At 6:30 p.m. in Steinman Hall, Ever Sandoval, Liz Fulmer, Julia Jordan Kamanda, Kelly Buchanan, Willie Marble, Corinna Joy, The Fetlock and Leanza Duo, Jen Lobo Rose, Beimnet Getahun, and other talented Lancaster-area artists will perform in support of CWS Lancaster. The event is free and open to the public, but donations will be collected.
Each year, the Arts at MU partners with CWS Lancaster to celebrate the artistry of Lancaster’s treasured refugee and immigrant communities with “Acts of Welcome,” showcasing musicians and dancers from across the globe. This year, the event falls at a time when CWS Lancaster is facing unprecedented challenges due to funding and policy changes impacting their core work of resettlement, integration, legal services, and advocacy. As a result, local musicians will join the lineup this year for a benefit concert to support CWS Lancaster’s critical work for the community and to “Welcome” our global neighbors.
