The Comics Live
Have you ever wondered what it would be like for your favorite comic strip to transfer from a book or newspaper to the stage? Well in this camp, campers will do just that by working in groups to write, draw up, and perform a short comic strip complete with text bubbles and a narrator. This process helps the student build their creative acting skills, group skills, writing and visual arts skills culminating in an end-of-the-week mini-performance.

Campers can register for morning sessions from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM, afternoon sessions from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM, or both! (For those staying all day, there is a supervised lunch period. Lunches must be brought to camp and will be refrigerated.) Morning and afternoon snacks are provided. Both mornings and afternoons feature a “Common Hour” in which all campers join together for a large group creative multi-disciplinary activity. On Fridays of both weeks, there are morning and afternoon performance showcases and art exhibits for families and friends featuring the campers’ work of each week. Drop-off and pick-up at the Ware Center is supervised by the staff. Registration deadline is May 17, 2024.
