Arts Smarts 2024 – Week 2: VISUAL ART Afternoon Session – Grades K-2

Monday, June 24, 2024
Doors: 1pm | Performance: 1pm

Art History
This camp will serve as an introduction to some of the coolest moments in art history. Campers will create their own art inspired by the exciting work of such artists as Matisse, Kandinsky, and Kusama.

Campers can register for morning sessions from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM, afternoon sessions from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM, or both! (For those staying all day, there is a supervised lunch period. Lunches must be brought to camp and will be refrigerated.) Morning and afternoon snacks are provided. Both mornings and afternoons feature a “Common Hour” in which all campers join together for a large group creative multi-disciplinary activity. On Fridays of both weeks, there are morning and afternoon performance showcases and art exhibits for families and friends featuring the campers’ work of each week. Drop-off and pick-up at the Ware Center is supervised by the staff. Registration deadline is May 17, 2024.

Teaching Artist BETHANY MILLER
graduated from Millersville University in 2023 with a BSE in Art with a concentration in painting. Her plan is to teach art at the elementary school level and to continue creating works of her own. With teaching experience in Manheim Township and Lower Dauphin, Bethany loves spreading the joy and learning that comes from creating. She is very glad to be able to do so for another summer of ARTS SMARTS.

TUITION
Camps are $125 for a 1/2 day session, per week, per child. We offer full and partial scholarships. Please email Barry.Kornhauser@millersville.edu to inquire about scholarship options.
