We the People First Friday

We the People First Friday features community-centered performances and exhibits that represent the great mosaic of Lancaster and beyond with genres as diverse as our nation! FREE and open to the public. No tickets required.

Xiaochi (“Small eats”) 

6:30 p.m. | Steinman Hall | Step into the world of Xiaochi with the Lancaster AAPI! Live food demonstrations will feature popular Asian street foods from Burma, Thailand, and Cambodia. The Temple Breakers, a breakdancing team from Temple University, will perform between each country’s presentation. Expect tantalizing aromas, audience participation, and a special reception offering small bites and beverages. 

“Ikebana” (“Giving life to flowers”) by Lancaster AAPI Artists

6-8 p.m. | Regitz Gallery | Experience the cultural richness of the Lancaster Asian American and Pacific Islander community through a collaborative art exhibit showcasing the artists’ interpretations of “Ikebana,” a deeply significant Japanese art form that embodies the essence of harmony and minimalism. The exhibit will be on display until May 30.
